Chips Here, There, Everywhere

As scientists push the limits of nanotechnology, electronic circuits will get smaller and smaller. That means that you will find chips in more places than ever before! This will bring about a sort of electronic ubiquity and and create a new level of connectedness. The digital world will infiltrate people's real lives and become an integral part of them. Here are two examples:


This weight scale uses the GSM networks to upload your weight on the internet, so you can easily keep track of it.




These clothes use microchips to detect what you are doing based on your position and then automatically publish your actions on sites like Twitter and Facebook. There is more! They can also "tap" you on the shoulder when someone posts on one of your profiles.





Some will say it is part of our natural evolution and focus on the benefits. Others will be concerned with privacy and discuss how our current laws would not work with these products. What do you think?
