Farewell Floppy Disks

You know that slot in your computer that you never use? That has been replaced with your handy flash drive. Apparently, the obsolete floppy disks are still commonly used in India and Japan. Sony is now the last manufacturer of floppy disks and amazingly sold 12 million units in 2009 alone. With Apple and Dell already producing computers without floppy disk drives, Sony has announced the last will be made in March 2011. They will eventually be remembered only as the icon to save files.
