Another One Bites the Dust

As soon as LinkedIn's servers were down for a reboot, Mashable reported it on its front page. LinkedIn, a popular social networking site for professionals, was unaccessible for less than five hours - a period of time so short that most individuals would not even know what happened. However, thanks to Mashable and its interconnectedness with other social networks, LinkedIn's downtime was immortalized in Internet history with 625 tweets, 35 facebook shares, 12 likes, and 12 comments.

Popular websites can learn from this - any gaff that you make can spread through social networks and mar your public image or reputation.
