Google's Pacman logo last week in honor to celebrate its 30th anniversary grabbed unbelievable attention. It used up over $120 million of productivity, consuming over 4 million hours of play time on the site. This was determined based on the statistic that the homepage had an average time of 48 seconds spent on the page compared to the average of 11 seconds. This is then multiplied by the +500 million visitors per day.
What is even more interesting about the changing Google homepage for this particular day was that it was able to relate to a large percentage of the population, creating a nostalgic feeling, and was for the first time, interactive.

The stats are a little quirky, for example, they estimated an average rate of $25/hour. Not quite the median of wages eh?
ReplyDeleteWhat about the people playing from home/during break?
